About The Position

Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in the delivery of educational programs to individual or small groups of students in a variety of settings. This position will work primarily with 8th grade students who have IEPs in general education and special education classes and facilitating students' accomodations. Daily schedule generally includes some shifts of outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and/or lunchroom supervision. For complete details, please see the attached job description.

Requirements

  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Paraeducator Board (www.pesb.wa.gov)
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council
  • A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document
  • Official post secondary transcript(s)

  • Paid Holidays : This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
  • Paid Time Off : Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
