About The Position

Job Summary: The Pantry Driver will pick up grocery products and deliver food from donation locations to the Pantry. This position is critical in assisting Families in Transition to provide healthy food to those in need. Essential Job Functions: Coordinates with volunteer drivers on the daily pick-up process while ensuring each day that all donations are transported safely and adhering to food policies. Drives to store locations to pick up donations and documents all perishable item’s temp and on the driver sheets. The Driver will weigh Fresh Rescue at the Pantry daily to provide daily data that Families in Transition reports to the Food Bank. Performs bi- weekly inspections on vehicle to ensure safety. Organizes and manages First In First Out of USDA dry stock to assist with inventory and updating storage area charts. Turns in required paperwork each day and communicates clearly with the pantry coordinator on any issues concerning the receiving of donations. Operates company vehicle and manual equipment to transport food. Provide excellent customer service when always working with volunteers and store partners, including communicating any issues with the stores and having empathy towards partners when problems arise. Maintain cleanliness and organization of sorting and storage areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Schedule Part Time Position - 32 hours/week. Monday to Friday - 7:30am - 2:00pm

Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of food safety
  • Safe Serve certified.
  • 2+ Years of Driving Experience.
