Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (technical training preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of industrial painting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • 1–2+ years in a lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of paint systems (powder coating and/or wet paint).
  • Familiarity with surface prep techniques (sandblasting, cleaning, masking).
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good communication and team leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal enclosure or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train a team of painters.
  • Plan and coordinate daily painting schedules to meet production deadlines.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation, coating application, and curing processes.
  • Monitor paint quality, thickness, adhesion, and overall finish standards.
  • Troubleshoot painting defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and oversee spray booths, paint systems, and related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, PPE use, and hazardous material handling.
  • Manage inventory of paints, coatings, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to improve processes.
  • Document production data, quality checks, and maintenance logs.
