We’re looking for a Paint Line Department Lead on 3rd shift to work at our Fond du Lac, WI headquarters and be part of our great team! What Moves You? The Role – What You’ll Do! This role helps us deliver high-quality play and playground equipment to communities around the world by: Coordinate daily workflow to meet production schedules. Enforce all safety rules and PPE requirements. Conduct daily safety checks of equipment and workstations. Support safety initiatives and incident investigations. Promote safe practices and immediately address unsafe behaviors or conditions. Assign work based on priorities, capacity, and skill level. Ensure materials, parts and resources are available before work begins. Identify and address bottlenecks in real time. Escalate issues impacting schedule or quality to the Supervisor promptly. Review daily production output for each area of the paint line. Track and document departmental metrics (output, rework, efficiency, scrap). Complete required production reports accurately and on time. Provide real-time feedback to employees to maintain productivity standards. Support corrective action when performance expectations are not met. Ensure staff follow proper procedures, prints, and quality standards. Conduct spot checks of weld quality and dimensional accuracy. Assist with root cause investigations for any defects. Reinforce first-time quality expectations. Assist in training new employees on processes and expectations. Provide coaching on technique, speed, and quality improvement. Support cross-training efforts within the department. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff during shifts. Communicate schedule updates and priority changes clearly. Coordinate with cross functional departments to ensure smooth transitions. Participate in Pipe Cell production area by processing parts and proper inventory transactions. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory area. Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and 1+ years in lead role preferred.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow.
  • Leadership ability with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce standards while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to balance hands-on production responsibilities with process leadership.
  • Results-driven with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Strong work ethic - must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or experience is a plus.
