About The Position

The Paint Line Technician performs various tasks as required to maintain the performance levels for the paint lines and washers used to prime and finish paint transformers and components. Major duties include lab analysis, material handling, data collection, and data operation of some production support equipment. In this function, you will: • Conduct, interpret, and record results of laboratory analysis for paints, washer chemicals, and other materials used to prime and finish paint transformers and components. • Move, handle, and mix paints, washer chemicals, and other materials as needed to perform process diagnostics and to replenish materials at point of use. • Collect and record process data including chemical concentration, fluid viscosity, coating thickness, process pressures, flow rates, temperatures, paint gloss and hardness, solvent usage, wastewater discharges, and other similar data. This also includes creating weekly reports to support EHS and MESH requirements. • Work closely with manufacturing engineering and various suppliers during periods of experimentation. • Perform preventative maintenance requirements and minor repairs that include plugged pumps, changing e-coat filter bags, and cleaning bath stages on all lines. This often requires work within a confined space and must follow confined space entry procedures. • Control the operation of some production support equipment such as the wastewater system and the de-ionized water system. Load and label hazardous waste and drums.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of paint experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Operator is exposed to paint solvents and chemical fumes such as paints, thinners, solvents, varnish, acids, caustics etc., which have been defined as hazardous materials. Required to attend annual training on hazardous waste management with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
