About The Position

This position plays a key role in supporting the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and other imaging applications critical to patient diagnosis and treatment across our hospital. The Applications Analyst works directly with radiologists, technologists, clinicians, and IT staff to ensure the seamless operation of imaging systems, focusing on reliability, workflow optimization, and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related field - or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on PACS support experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
  • Strong understanding of DICOM standards, imaging modalities, HL7 messaging, and workflow processes in radiology.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting imaging systems and working with vendors and clinical end-users.
  • Familiarity with at least one major PACS platform

Nice To Haves

  • Background as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certified) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline support and maintenance for PACS, RIS, and related imaging software across radiology and other clinical departments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and image workflow issues, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to improve system usability and imaging workflows.
  • Monitor PACS performance, image routing, storage capacity, and system alerts; escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist with integration and support of modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray) and ensure proper DICOM communication.
  • Participate in PACS upgrades, testing, and implementation of new imaging technologies or features.
  • Support data migrations, archiving solutions (e.g., VNA), and long-term storage compliance.
  • Document configuration changes, procedures, user guides, and issue resolutions.
  • Ensure PACS-related systems meet security, HIPAA, and hospital regulatory standards.
