About The Position

This Packer position is for summer help and involves a variety of tasks related to the packaging and quality control of finished products. Key responsibilities include bagging, boxing, or palletizing products, conducting quality inspections and tests, and operating machinery such as unwind stands, formers, and trim presses. The role also requires administrative duties like preparing production logs, product tags, and time cards. Additionally, the Packer will operate a scrap grinder and understand the recycling system. Adherence to plant safety and housekeeping guidelines is paramount to ensure a safe work environment. The position requires working 12-hour shifts on a 2.2.3 rotation, specifically from 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have some type of previous work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
  • Performs quality inspections and tests.
  • Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
  • Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
  • Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, on a 2.2.3 rotation, 545am-6pm.
