About The Position

This position involves bagging, boxing, or palletizing finished products and performing quality inspections and tests. The Packer is responsible for positioning sheet rolls, operating a scrap grinder, and understanding the recycle system. Additionally, the role requires preparing production logs, product tags, and time cards. Employees must follow and participate in plant safe housekeeping guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. The job requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2.2.3 rotation, from 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Some type of previous work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
  • Performs quality inspections and tests.
  • Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
  • Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
  • Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, on a 2.2.3 rotation, 545am-6pm.
