About The Position

Team Lead - Packaging The Team Lead sets up packaging for all scheduled products for the day, following directions of supervisor. They pack product, maintaining accuracy, speed, and neatness. Cleans packaging area at the end of day and ensures that items for the next day are in area. Maintains packaging documentation as required with strong attention to detail to maintain accuracy. Job Duties Follow supervisor’s direction in preparing and labeling bags for days production and delegate to Production Packers. Ensure that no foreign product/material is within the packaging. Check scales, checks production schedule, ensure proper labels, packing materials are available and lines are set up properly. Perform Metal Detector tests and check best by dates for both bags and boxes. Perform Quality checks to confirm weights to ensure they meets standards. Obtain samples at the beginning of the shift and every hour thereafter for quality control purposes. Document product weights, dates, number of cases, complete pallet tags, keep track of total number produced per work order. Rotate workers to various stations. Ensure that all product is packed properly per Standard Operating Procedure Assists in all packaging line activities, maintaining accuracy, speed, and neatness. Communicate with Bakers to ensure work orders are correct and in order. Ensure all production documents are complete, signed and submitted to the Supervisor for review. Engage in change of shift communications with incoming Leads. Escalate any employee issues and concerns to Supervisor or Manager. Ensure Packaging area is clean and organized at the end of day and/or during flavor change overs that items for the next day are in area. Performs tasks for the different positions in the packing area as necessary to provide relief for breaks and lunches. Responsible for all applicable Company procedures and policies, including Mondelez Quality Policies. Responsible to ensure compliance with FDA, SQF, New York State and other regulatory requirements, to assure food safety & quality. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain focus while performing a task
  • Must be able to work around moving equipment
  • Strong communication skills with ability to delegate
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to wear safety toe shoes for entire shift
  • Must be able to stand during entire work shift of 7+ hours (not including rest and meal periods)
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish and possess basic reading and writing skills to effectively understand and complete work-related documents, safety protocols, and instructions
