About The Position

The Packaging Lead supports day-to-day packaging operations by overseeing packaging activities during assigned shifts. This includes automated and manual means of filling containers, packing products, stacking, and moving materials. The position requires high standards and a strong understanding of quality and packaging processes, while ensuring work is performed in accordance with safety procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements. A positive attitude, leadership skills, and strong attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience driving a forklift.
• 3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably a packaging operation.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements, quality and safety procedures, SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) execution.
• Problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Results-oriented and able to influence outcomes in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with plant leadership to execute production schedule and flex when external factors require.
• Ensure that the packaging line is staged appropriately, that all line stoppages are addressed immediately, and that time lost during shift start-ups/closes are minimized.
• Complete in-process checks of packaging batch records.
• Review packaging batch records for completeness and appropriate documentation and ensure that any corrections to the packaging batch record are completed accurately.
• Serve as a point of contact for packaging issue resolution.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to packaging equipment.
• Ensure all product is packaged and palletized to exceed customer standards in appearance and functionality.
• Work with plant leadership to help create a safe working environment and ensure all applicable regulations are followed.
• Continue to improve the safety, quality, and productivity of the team.
