About The Position

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Packaging Associates in daily operations while ensuring compliance with state cannabis regulations and company policies. This position oversees production output, quality control, and training activities and acts as the primary point of leadership in the absence of the Packaging Manager or Operations Director. The Packaging Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy, and compliance in all packaging operations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be eligible for and maintain a valid state-issued cannabis agent badge.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow SOPs precisely.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable with software systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability and commitment to attendance and punctuality.
  • Must remain compliant with all state and local cannabis laws and company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a packaging, manufacturing, or cannabis environment.
  • Familiarity with Bio Track, Metrc or other seed-to-sale tracking systems.
  • Experience in performance coaching or conducting informal reviews.
  • Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong math skills and ability to understand and calculate production metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, monitor, and support packaging associates to meet daily production goals, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency across all packaging activities.
  • Conduct final quality checks to ensure packaged products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements, including proper labeling and tracking.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and ongoing training for new and current team members to ensure consistency in performance and understanding of SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics and personnel performance; report daily outputs, issues, and improvements to the Packaging Manager.
  • Serve as the acting department lead in the Packaging Manager's absence, ensuring seamless continuity of operations and communication.
  • Monitor and address team attendance, punctuality, performance, and adherence to policies.
  • Allocate tasks and adjust workflows to meet daily goals and changing priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to boost efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Utilize tracking software and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Bio Track, Metrc) to log production data accurately.
  • Demonstrate strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Maintain familiarity with cannabis regulations and company SOPs; ensure team adherence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
