About The Position
The Owen Finish Assistant Farm Manager position at Jennie-O Turkey Store in Barron, WI, involves assisting the farm manager in the comprehensive care of turkeys from their initial age to market readiness. Key responsibilities include general repairs and maintenance, daily and weekly operational planning and scheduling, and the execution of daily chores. Requirements
- Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
- Ability to meet all sanitation requirements
- Basic mechanical skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, lift, carry & reach while handling turkeys, feed, litter, equipment in a weight range of <10 pounds to >50 pounds from occasionally to a frequent basis
- Ability to work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection
- Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal (No beards)
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous turkey experience and/or a farm background (2 years)
- Possess good communications and supervisory skills based on experience or training
Responsibilities
- Assist farm manager in the care of turkeys from age move to market
- Includes responsibilities such as general repairs and maintenance

- Implementation and execution of daily chores
- Ability to follow sanitation policies as prescribed by company directives
- Will be held responsible for flock performance
- Assist in the supervision of employees sent to the farm
- Ability to work scheduled weekends or holidays
