About The Position

The Overhead and Aircraft Hangar Door Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of sectional overhead doors and large-scale aircraft hangar door systems in a mission-critical airfield environment. This role supports continuous flight operations by ensuring all door systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and base requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience servicing sectional overhead doors and/or aircraft hangar door systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with large industrial door systems and motorized controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with safety practices related to high-tension springs, heavy equipment, and elevated work.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
  • Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and aircraft hangar door systems (e.g., hydraulic, electric, bi-fold, sliding, or vertical lift systems).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, gearboxes, tracks, rollers, cables, springs, control panels, limit switches, safety devices, and seals.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using appropriate tools and technical documentation.
  • Respond to emergency service calls to restore operational capability with minimal downtime.
  • Install new door systems and components according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
  • Conduct operational and safety testing after maintenance or repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and base-specific regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
  • Coordinate with base facilities, operations, and contractors to schedule work and minimize operational impact.
  • Maintain housekeeping and tool accountability in work areas.
