About The Position

The Overhead and Aircraft Hangar Door Lead is responsible for overseeing the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of sectional overhead doors and large-scale aircraft hangar door systems in a mission-critical airfield environment. This role provides technical leadership and operational oversight to ensure all door systems function safely, reliably, and in full compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and base requirements, supporting uninterrupted flight operations.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
  • Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and aircraft hangar door systems (e.g., hydraulic, electric, bi-fold, sliding, or vertical lift systems).
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on leadership for preventive and corrective maintenance involving motors, gearboxes, tracks, rollers, cables, springs, control panels, limit switches, safety devices, and seals.
  • Oversee diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, ensuring proper use of tools, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency service calls, directing response efforts to restore operational capability with minimal downtime.
  • Lead and supervise installation of new door systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and site constraints.
  • Verify completion of operational testing and safety inspections following maintenance, repairs, or installations.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA standards, safety protocols, and base-specific regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of maintenance records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
  • Coordinate work planning and scheduling with base facilities, operations personnel, and subcontractors to minimize impact to airfield operations.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, materials, and housekeeping standards within assigned work areas.
