About The Position

The Outpatient Infusion Nurse is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse responsible for providing direct patient care, administering infusions, and managing the care of patients receiving a variety of intravenous therapies in an outpatient setting. This role requires extensive knowledge of infusion medications, strong assessment skills, patient education abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. The Outpatient Infusion Nurse collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. We are offering a sign on bonus up to $25,000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer additional pay for participation in our clinical ladder program as well as referral bonuses, excellent benefits, tuition reimbursement and relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas
  • 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
  • BLS through the American Heart Association is required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous oncology/chemo experience is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including allergy history, vital signs, physical assessment, and review of medical history, prior to infusion administration.
  • Review physician orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of therapy.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs, physician orders, and infusion protocols.
  • Monitor patients continuously throughout the infusion process, assessing for adverse reactions, pain, and discomfort.
  • Prepare and administer a wide range of intravenous medications, including but not limited to: Chemotherapy and biotherapy agents
