About The Position

The Outbound Logistics Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to the Logistics administrative team to ensure efficient and accurate customer order fulfillment, load and capacity planning, personnel management, and supply chain optimization. This role is responsible for leading daily outbound operations, ensuring best‑in‑class service delivery, maintaining a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Outbound Logistics Supervisor monitors and reports on key performance metrics, executes continuous improvement projects, manages daily staffing and workload requirements, and implements corrective actions to address performance gaps. Success in this role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration with internal teams including Logistics, Production, Finished Goods Planning, Finishing, Quality Assurance, and Sales, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with external warehousing providers and freight carriers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in logistics, outbound operations, or customer service.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of direct supervisory or people‑management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Inventory management experience, including cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • ERP system experience (e.g., M3, SAP, Salesforce, or similar platforms).
  • Experience within food, flavor, color, or beverage blending and packaging operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in establishing and maintaining safety as a top priority across all outbound logistics operations.
  • Develop, track, and analyze outbound shipping metrics in alignment with corporate goals and service level expectations.
  • Create and execute daily operational plans to achieve on‑time shipment performance that meets or exceeds company targets.
  • Identify performance gaps and lead the implementation of countermeasures and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal partners, including Production, Finished Goods Planning, Finishing, and Sales, to resolve day‑to‑day operational issues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external warehousing and freight carrier partners to support reliable and cost‑effective transportation solutions.
  • Support inventory management practices to maximize inventory turns while minimizing loss; lead cycle count activities in accordance with company cycle count programs.
  • Manage staffing requirements, including scheduling, overtime planning, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing employee training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with company Quality Assurance policies and objectives; strictly adhere to QA procedures as outlined in the Quality Manual.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing responsibilities and supporting cross‑functional teamwork as business needs require.
