The Orphans' Court Administrator works independently to accept and docket Orphans' Court filings, work with the AOPC-mandated Guardianship Tracking System ("GTS"); answer all inquiries from attorneys and the public regarding Orphans' Court filing procedures; acts as the face of Orphans' Court in this office. Essential Duties Under the direction of the Register of Wills and Department Deputies, the Orphan's Court Administrator will: Accepts, dockets, and processes Petitions/Answers/Memoranda of Law/other filings for cases of Decedent Estates, Trusts, (alleged) Incapacitated Persons, Minors, Fiduciary END Qualifications and other case types; dockets; Preliminary Decrees, and Final Decrees. Prepares Citations as ordered by Preliminary Decrees signed by the Orphans' Court Judge, prepares copies/certified copies/ exemplified copies of documents as needed, issues subpoenas when requested, processes postal mail requests. Prepares files for Appeal to Superior Court of PA. Interacts regularly with the President Judges staff in pulling files for review or Hearings, prepares Guardian packets to be handed out in the courtroom. Assists the Orphans' Court Clerk in accepting Petitions to Confirm Consent/Termination of Parental Rights, for Adoption and Foreign Adoption Registration, docketing Preliminary/Final Decrees and sending out Rule 4.6 Notices, and preparing Certificates of Adoption, pulling files for Court or Judges. Assists the public at the counter and by phone for the Register of Wills and Orphans' Court; records information needed for the AOPC monthly reports and Act 24 yearly reports, filing. Assists the Register of Wills staff with accepting filings, searching estates, pulling estate files, orders/returns Orphans' Court files from storage when needed. Mailing Rule 236b notices, preparing Citations and certified copies of decrees as needed. Assists with Handling Petitions for Adoption from filing through resolution including regular interaction with Judge Durham's Chambers. Assisting the public at the counter and by phone for the Register of Wills and Orphans' Court. As needed, provides back up assistance to the Financial Receipts/Banking Coordinator at the front desk in operating/balancing the cash register, accepting Register of Wills, Orphans' Court and Marriage License payments/transactions.
