About The Position

A manufacturing organization in Cornelius, Oregon is seeking an Order Management Specialist to support custom and non‑standard product orders. This role sits at the intersection of Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Production, playing a critical part in delivering accurate quotes, managing costs, and ensuring custom products move smoothly from request through production. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working with engineered‑to‑order products, and partnering cross‑functionally to support revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, quoting, or a manufacturing environment
  • ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cross‑functional communication skills

  • Experience supporting custom or engineered‑to‑order products strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review custom quote requests for non‑standard products and configurations
  • Source materials and components required for custom builds
  • Develop accurate cost estimates including material pricing, lead times, and supplier constraints
  • Ensure quotes align with company margin targets and financial objectives
  • Provide timely and responsive support to meet sales and customer deadlines
  • Manage custom orders through all phases of production
  • Identify and engage suppliers capable of supporting custom or low‑volume components
  • Request, analyze, and compare supplier quotes for cost, lead time, and feasibility
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for custom and non‑standard orders
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors supporting custom production
  • Partner with Engineering and Sales to understand design requirements and alternative solutions
  • Work with Production and Planning to validate feasibility and scheduling impact
  • Support Sales and Customer Service with accurate cost details and lead‑time commitments
  • Coordinate with Quality to ensure materials meet specifications and certifications
  • Convert approved quotes into purchase orders
  • Track supplier commitments and manage delivery timelines for custom orders
  • Expedite materials when needed to meet project schedules
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within ERP (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central)
  • Help refine quoting and sourcing processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and potential design standardization
  • Maintain pricing history and sourcing documentation for custom components
  • Support ERP data integrity and system improvements
