About The Position

The Order Entry Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of customer orders for wire, cable, and related products. This role ensures compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, pricing agreements, and delivery requirements while coordinating closely with sales, engineering, production, and logistics teams to support on-time order fulfillment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in order entry, customer service, or sales support within manufacturing; wire and cable industry experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with technical product specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor) preferred
  • Ability to interpret customer purchase orders, drawings, and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter customer orders for wire and cable products into the ERP system, including part numbers, constructions, lengths, reels/spools, packaging, and delivery requirements
  • Review orders for completeness, accuracy, pricing, contract terms, and compliance with customer and industry specifications (e.g., UL, CSA, RoHS)
  • Verify technical details such as conductor size, stranding, insulation type, jacketing, voltage rating, color codes, and tolerances
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, planning, and production teams to clarify specifications, lead times, and manufacturing feasibility
  • Process order changes, cancellations, returns, and rush orders while communicating impacts to internal teams and customers
  • Maintain accurate customer records, pricing agreements, and order documentation
  • Support shipping and logistics by confirming packaging, reel sizes, labeling requirements, and freight terms
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Assist with reporting related to order volume, backlog, and customer demand
