We are currently seeking a Oracle Application Database Administrator to join our team in Atlanta (REMOTE), Georgia (US-GA), United States (US). Job Summary: Database Administration & Maintenance Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database Servers, RAC/Grid infrastructure, and E-Business Suite databases in OCI. Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity management to ensure high availability and efficiency. Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN, ensuring data resilience and disaster recovery readiness. Conduct database patching, cloning, and refreshing activities for development, testing, and production environments. Implement and maintain database security, user roles, and privileges consistent with client and federal security requirements (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53). Cloud Integration & Identity Management Integrate and support Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS/ICS Federation) for Single Sign-On (SSO) and centralized identity management across client enterprise systems. Collaborate with security and application teams to configure authentication, federation, and access controls. Troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues related to OCI and EBS integrations. Migrations & Cloud Operations Perform database migrations from on-premises Oracle environments to OCI using Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate, or equivalent migration tools. Support the configuration of OCI Database Systems (DB Systems, Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud Service) and connectivity within OCI networks. Assist with OCI automation, monitoring, and patching through OCI CLI, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform). Security & Compliance Apply database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and least privilege access controls. Participate in vulnerability remediation, patch compliance verification, and system hardening in alignment with HHS cybersecurity guidelines. Ensure continuous compliance with FedRAMP Moderate/High and NIST 800-53 standards. Collaboration & Documentation Collaborate closely with application, functional, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues and implement performance or security improvements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration management records, and change control documentation. Support automation initiatives to streamline database provisioning, patching, and backup tasks. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-implementation reviews.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, One-and-one- half (1.5) years of additional experience can substitute for one (1) year of a typical degree program.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an Oracle Application DBA.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12 or higher (application and database tiers).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Oracle Database Server, RAC/Grid Infrastructure, and DBAS environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database administration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Oracle Business Intelligence R12 or higher/ Oracle Analytics Cloud
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS/ICS Federation) and SSO integration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in RMAN backup/recovery, patching, cloning, and performance tuning.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with on-prem to cloud database migration using Data Pump, RMAN, or GoldenGate.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with federal IT compliance standards (FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Database Administrator or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect/Operations certification.
  • Experience supporting federal health systems (e.g., HHS, CMS, CDC, NIH, ASPR).
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate replication, and autonomous database services.
  • Proficiency with PL/SQL, Linux/Unix, and OCI CLI scripting.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, or equivalent ITSM/monitoring tools.
