About The Position

The State of Ohio (DCY) is seeking a highly experienced Oracle RAC Database Administrator to manage and support large-scale, mission-critical Oracle database environments. This role involves database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery across enterprise systems.

Requirements

8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience
4+ years working with Oracle 19c
Strong expertise in: Oracle RAC architecture and administration
AIX (7.x or higher) operating systems
RMAN backup/recovery, cloning, and restore operations
Active Data Guard and Data Guard Broker
ASM storage and high availability configurations
Experience with: Performance tuning and SQL optimization in RAC environments
Database upgrades, patching, and migrations
Shell scripting (Unix/AIX) and PL/SQL development

Nice To Haves

Experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI/ExaCC) including provisioning, monitoring, and migrations
Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication
Experience with ACFS snapshot cloning and advanced database configurations
Knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse environments
Experience implementing database security (TDE, encryption, compliance controls)

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and administer Oracle RAC databases (19c+) in large-scale environments
Manage n-node RAC clusters , ASM storage, and high availability configurations
Configure and manage Active Data Guard, standby databases, and failover/switchover processes
Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations, and performance tuning
Implement backup and recovery solutions using RMAN
Support database security (TDE, VPD, data redaction, auditing)
Work with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13c) for monitoring and management
Perform data migrations (ZDM, GoldenGate, RMAN, Data Pump)
Develop and maintain Shell, SQL, and PL/SQL scripts
Provide production and non-production support, troubleshooting performance and system issues
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance
Support Oracle Cloud (OCI/ExaCC) environments and database services
