Two technician positions are available in Dr. Feng Tang's laboratory in the Department of Chemistry to support ongoing research projects leveraging Sequencing and Proteomics techniques to study how DNA damage induced by environmental exposure and endogenous metabolism contributes to cancer and aging-related diseases. There will be tremendous opportunities to learn and contribute to exciting research. We are a multi-disciplinary lab that utilizes various techniques (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, NGS sequencing, nanopore sequencing, proteomics, and bioinformatics) in mammalian cell culture model systems. We strive to cultivate a collaborative lab environment that enables innovative and cutting-edge research. The position will involve performing routine experiments, contributing essential support functions, and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the lab. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking for research experience prior to applying to graduate or medical school. Training opportunities for cutting-edge technologies in the lab include genome editing, Mass spectrometry, NGS sequencing, nanopore sequencing, bioinformatics, confocal microscopy, etc.
