About The Position

This is highly responsible work assisting current and future clients of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County (FDOH-Broward). This position performs intermediate level work in the call center under the limited supervision of the Office Operations Supervisor II-SES. This position must follow state, local and federal regulations for all programs. This position is designated as a sensitive position and is required to maintain information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules and regulations, as well as FDOH and FDOH-Broward Policies, Protocols, and Procedures. This position has been delegated custodial authority for their Program and Unit’s information set(s) and/ or secured area(s).

Requirements

  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
  • This is a full-time in-office position. Willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The Department of Health is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship. Will you require sponsorship for employment visa status?
  • Experience working in a Call Center setting or providing customer service.
  • Experience working in a fast past setting in person or over the telephone.
  • Clerical experience including data entry and scheduling appointments.
  • Bilingual Fluent English/Spanish, or Fluent English/Creole.

Nice To Haves

  • Have one (1) or more years of experience in an office and/or front desk setting.
  • Have one (1) or more years of experience working with the public or community agencies.
  • Experience working Women’s Health, Dental, Immunization and WIC.
  • Work experience conveying information verbally or written.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules WIC appointments by telephone for services requested by client.
  • Schedules Dental appointments by telephone for services requested by client.
  • Schedules Refugee appointments by telephone for services requested by client.
  • Provide clients with information for school age required Immunization and information for adults Immunization.
  • Enters client demographic and/or other necessary information in WIC data system and/or HMS for the purposes of establishing baseline client information in respective electronic systems needed to schedule appointment for service.
  • Receives incoming calls for the FDOH-Broward call center. This position provides customers with information and transfers clients to appropriate program(s) and /or departments(s) as requested.
  • Sends and receives emails, faxes, and other correspondence for the purposes of facilitating communication and continued client service within FDOH and with outside organizations, as permitted by state, local and federal regulations.
  • Attended staff meetings, conferences and in-service training programs as required and according to established procedures.
  • Business hours are from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday – Friday (hours and days are subject to change based on business needs)
  • Performs other duties as required
