Our skilled nursing facility boasts a loyal team of long-term employees and a fantastic work culture. A Personal Care Attendant is a person who has met certain training requirements and provides care to residents related to the activities of daily living. Candidates will receive this training under the facility’s Personal Care Attendant Training Program, which will enable the Person Care Attendant to further obtain skills and preparation toward the goal of successfully passing the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam. Requirements

  • Communicate effectively in English to include reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Works effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to work on a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include but not limited to a Level II Background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with elderly or disable in a healthcare setting.
  • Possess a valid CPR/BLS certification.
  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following activities of daily living care: oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, assistance with meals, nourishment, transportation to meal service areas, and mobility.
  • Routinely observe, identify, and report resident concerns/needs to supervisor.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately.
  • Measure and record vital signs assigned. Measure and record intake and output according to the care plan. Observe, monitor, and report symptoms of potential skin breakdown and/or pressure ulcers to primary nurses.
  • Use appropriate techniques for mechanical lifts, transferring, turning, and positioning, range of motion exercises recognizing changes that place a resident at risk for pressure ulcers and falls.
  • Provide the required Activities of Daily Living care using proper techniques to include mouth care, bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, feeding/assistance with eating, maintain hydration, and mobility as outlined in the care plan.
  • Follow facility established policies and procedures when providing all care and dining room protocol.
  • Responding to the cognitively implored resident or the resident with difficult behaviors including Dementia/Alzheimer’s. Observe conditions and report behavioral changes to primary nurse/RN Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all resident safety devices are used as outlined in the care plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies.
  • Respond to resident’s request and needs timely and appropriately. Answer resident call lights promptly.
  • Notify nurses of any changes in resident’s condition.
  • Complete assignments from the primary nurse or RN supervisor within the time allowed.
  • Attend all required facility training.
  • Perform other related work as required.
