You'll be the organizational backbone for our passionate biologists and technicians who protect Florida’s stunning landscapes. Corbett Wildlife Management Area, and Dupuis and Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Areas. No Two Days are Alike: From coordinating staff trainings to managing essential office logistics to depositing collections of day use entry fees, your role keeps our operations running smoothly so our team can focus on the wildlife. Scenic "Office" Views: You'll have the chance to travel across the North District, visiting various areas and attending regional meetings in the heart of Florida’s natural beauty.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and eight years of professional experience in administrative work.
  • An associate’s degree can substitute for two of the eight years of experience and a bachelor’s degree can substitute for four of the eight years of experience.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid minimum Class E State of Florida driver’s license.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Must be familiar with and able to utilize computers using Microsoft Office applications, telecommunications equipment, and general office equipment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner and provide excellent customer service in a consistent manner.
  • Must be well organized, punctual, and display a cooperative and professional attitude.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices and the principles and techniques of effective communications.
  • Skilled in typing and data entry.
  • Ability to produce final products within established timelines.
  • Ability to organize files and other records; use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar; and type letters and other standard forms in correct format.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budget tracking, equipment forms, and office supplies to keep the team mission-ready.
  • Act as the friendly face and voice of our office, greeting the public and routing calls to help people connect with nature.
  • Master both digital and paper files, schedule essential meetings, and handle critical procurement to ensure our biologists have what they need.
