About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Criminal Justice Information Manager I, this position is responsible for researching various databases to ensure information received or disseminated is accurate and complies with state and federal requirements. This position is also responsible for acting as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies to verify and obtain accurate information to assist in modifications to Computerized Criminal History (CCH).  This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

  • Ability to read and interpret state statutes.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external data bases or making contact with other criminal justice and non-criminal agencies to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements
  • Analyzing multiple source documents, forms a recommendation, and enters addition, deletion, and modifications in CCH following Criminal History Record Maintenance (CHRM) standard operations manual
  • Providing service to local, state, and federal agencies and the general public by means of telephone, computers, correspondence, or personal contact
  • Reviewing and processing incoming requests from the general public and criminal justice agencies.
