About The Position

Under the direction of the Planning & Policy Administrator, this position independently serves as a coordinator of criminal justice related validations and training systems provided by external vendors including PEAK Performance Solutions and provides support of FCIC and FALCON systems. This includes collaboration with Information Technology Services (ITS) and external vendors to ensure programming changes are prioritized and accurately completed to ensure all systems remain compliant with state and federal changes. This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases. This position is also responsible for conducting research to prepare plans and recommendations for objectives established by the division strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as subject matter expert related to the CJIS training systems and Peak Performance Solutions to include comprehension and interpretation of interface control documents, operation guides, and database relationships
  • Providing on-going quality assurance to identify potential problems and recommending alternative resolutions related to the use of systems
  • Coordinating maintenance and development of operational systems in conjunction with Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure organizational goals and statutory requirements are met
  • Participating in requirements gathering and coordinating the communication for CJIS systems necessary to facilitate required functions
  • Acting as a system testing expert for implemented changes, upgrades, and new functionality
  • Troubleshooting and developing a mechanism to compile reported problems; and if possible, resolving system issues with appropriate technology staff
  • Compiling, analyzing, and organizing data to complete complex tasks and articulating recommendations to management if needed
  • Creating and maintaining operational guides related to CJIS systems
  • Coordinating updates and modifications to the CJNet to ensure the most up to date and relevant information is made available to authorized agencies
  • Consulting with local, state, and federal agencies related to criminal justice information systems.
