About The Position

This is a highly responsible position that works under the direct supervision and clinical direction of the Regional Behavior Analyst, in the absence of a Regional Behavior Analyst, with clinical support from the Agency Senior Behavior Analyst, and also serving in a consultative role with group home providers, behavior analysts contracted with providers and with the Agency, as well as community stakeholders to assure that behavioral services are implemented in accordance with statute, rules, and operating procedures. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation to travel for work purposes.
  • Incumbent may be expected to work during emergency situations or natural disasters.
  • Knowledge of: Utilizing principles, theories and practices of behavior analysis.
  • Developmental disabilities or mental illness, or the principles and practices of one of the allied health filed principles or one of the rehabilitative sciences.
  • Ability to: Interpret applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Establish, organize and maintain files.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Travel for work purposes.
  • Demonstrate Skills in: Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Share Point, Outlook, etc.) and other computer software applications.

  • Statistics data analysis and/or strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the oversight of appropriate utilization and continued medical necessity of all behavioral services that the Regional Behavior Analyst is responsible for, including behavioral assessments, behavior analysis services, behavior assistant services, adult day training ratios and personal supports for behavior intervention. After initial service eligibilities have been determined, provides monitoring and recommendations for the continuation, fading or termination of behavioral services, as well as re-establishing eligibilities annually.
  • Determines eligibility or designates residential providers as meeting the criteria to deliver Behavior Focused or Intensive Behavioral Residential Habilitation services, and re-evaluates their eligibility at least annually thereafter, generating documents recommending to the Region whether to designate a provider as meeting criteria or needing improvements. Additional reviews of specialty designated providers may be conducted resulting from adverse events or deficiencies discovered through other service monitoring.
  • Prepares documentation for Crisis and Significant Additional Needs packets. As appropriate and as needed, gathers, compiles, and makes face-to-face visits to draft or amend Behavioral Summary Reports to be submitted to the State Office for individuals needing behavioral services requiring documentation for Crisis and Cost Plan Adjustment reviews. When appropriate, completes eligibility and IB Matrices. Conducts follow-up reviews and reporting on approved services as requested by the Regional Behavior Analyst and the State Office.
  • Works in collaboration with behavioral service providers to improve the quality and delivery of services to support improved outcomes for individuals. Tracks and completes follow-up on QIO Alerts, incident reports and use of reactive strategies making verbal and written recommendations for prevention and improvement. Provides consultation on behavior assessments and programs, as well as consulting on difficult cases, meeting with providers to improve their skills and offering technical assistance or conducting monitoring of behavioral service delivery.
  • Assists the Regional Behavior Analyst and provides coverage in the absence of the Regional Behavior Analyst, for oversight activities, including but not limited to management of the Regional LRCs, completing follow-up monitoring of individuals transitioning to an ICF/IID, reviewing revisions or updates to behavior plans, and addressing provider noncompliance.
  • Performs any other related activities as requested, including participation in monthly statewide calls with the agency senior behavior analyst and special projects related to behavioral services. Performs other duties as necessary to support regional and statewide functions, including but not limited to community crises, Emergency Operations Activities, and other meetings requiring behavioral expertise.
