The Operator I position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment within a refinery or industrial facility. The role requires adherence to customer specifications and is performed under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring, control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Basic Hand Tools.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Basic Mechanics.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Lubricants and Lubrication.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in General housekeeping.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Bearings.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Pumps.
  • Perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in Piping Systems.
  • Basic orientation Industrial Basic Plus.
  • Site Specific training.
  • 40 Hr HAZWOPER.
  • PSM training.
  • Annual Safety Modules.
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Facility Safety plans and Programs.
  • LOTO.
  • MSA/JSA training.
  • Short Service Employee training (behavior based training).
  • CIAB VNA computer Based training.

Responsibilities

  • Keep work area neat and Clean.
  • Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling.
  • Log and record process readings.
  • Perform Unit Rounds.
  • Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in general maintenance of facility equipment.
