The Operations Training Coordinator is resposible for the training of manufacturing personnel ranging from new hire onboarding to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma. It is desirable for the employee to obtain additional training related to management or training duties.
  • Requires 5+ years of related experience in production operations.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment
  • The employee is required to wear safety glasses and metatarsal guarded steel-toed shoes while working in production areas.
  • The employee may be required to flex schedule in order to meet the needs of the business
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and expresses a strong willingness to acquire skills in tools such as Valence and SmartSheet
  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and in proximity to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in non-weather related wet, humid conditions, non-weather-related extreme heat, and in proximity to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Requires good communication skills to provide effective training to employees.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may be loud when working in proximity to production equipment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating the training of shop floor operators, oversight of the VQR process and monitoring learning progress.
  • Verify employee adherence to established manufacturing and safe work practices.
  • Offer practical hands-on training directly on the floor.
  • Conduct shop floor orientation and onboarding for new employees as needed.
  • Collaborate on probationary employee evaluations during training process.
  • Assess operator training needs, identify skill gaps or deficiencies, and conduct retraining and follow-up as required.
  • Address training needs resulting from internal material rejects, customer complaints, or other identified sources
  • Provide weekly updates on employee development progress.
  • Review work instructions to ensure that improvements, revisions, or new developments are included. Develop completely new work instructions if/when necessary, as well.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Safety and LPS teams.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
