About The Position

Galveston County Health District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Support Specialist to support the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA). In this role, you will help ensure our EMS units are fully stocked, compliant, and ready to respond by managing inventory, coordinating equipment and fleet maintenance, and supporting daily operations across multiple locations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months of logistics, inventory, or supply chain experience
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and equipment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical or facility issues
  • Customer-service oriented with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel locally and respond to urgent transportation needs
  • Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends if needed
  • Must meet immunization, background check, and drug/alcohol screening requirements

  • EMS experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ordering, stocking, and inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals
  • Maintain station supply levels to ensure daily compliance with DSHS requirements
  • Manage and track inventory using PSTrax, including routine audits and reporting
  • Serve as Asset Custodian, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and disposal of assets
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of medical equipment with purchasing
  • Work with Fleet Management to track vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to stations and designated locations
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical and facility issues as needed
  • Ensure safety equipment and materials (fire extinguishers, SDS sheets, etc.) are compliant and up to date
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and asset reports
  • Support operational needs with frequent local travel (up to 50%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
