About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Support Manager, Training is responsible for designing, implementing, and leading training programs that enhance operational performance and ensure compliance with company standards. This role partners with leadership to identify training needs, develop curriculum, and deliver engaging learning experiences for operations teams. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong instructional design skills and a passion for developing talent. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs for operations staff and management. Create training materials, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), presentations, and e-learning content. Collaborate closely with the Learning and Development team to ensure all training materials align with organizational standards and leverage best practices in instructional design. Facilitate onboarding sessions, workshops, and ongoing development programs for employees at all levels. Assess training effectiveness through feedback, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Safety and Compliance teams to integrate regulatory requirements and best practices into training programs. Support leadership in identifying skill gaps and creating targeted learning solutions. Champion company initiatives and change management through effective communication and training strategies. Respond to evolving business needs by adjusting training priorities and content as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel by air, car, and/or other modes of transportation up to 50% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
  • Strong instructional design and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to create engaging training content and adapt to diverse learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and lead change initiatives.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional professional with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Years of Overall Relevant Work Experience: 4-7 years
  • Describe Type of Experience: Experience managing operations, ideally in a high-volume setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or management role within Republic Services (preferred).
  • Experience in the waste industry or related industry that includes significant exposure to training (preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as ATD, CPTD, or similar (preferred).
