About The Position

The Operations Support Consultant works closely with Retail Experience leadership to verify branches are compliant with regulatory and internal guidelines through regular audits. Operations Support Consultants serve as advisers to Retail and Branch leadership and collaborate with other departments that work closely with Retail Experience to maintain an environment that promotes member service while bolstering procedures to prevent losses. Responsibilities

  • Audit and Compliance: Conducts periodic audits to confirm branches are operating within regulatory and internal guidelines. Audits are reviewed with management, and any trends or concerns are shared with the District Managers and the VP of Retail.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments in the organization, such as Risk Management and Deposit Operations, to establish and maintain practices that minimize credit union losses and ensure compliance with regulations. Consultants will partner with District Managers to ensure branches adhere to Harborstone guidelines.
  • Meetings: Conducts regular meetings to update and refresh staff on policy and procedure. Consultants also provide regular training on specific topics throughout the year.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintains expertise in Harborstone products and services to support as needed.
  • Account Maintenance: Alerts staff and management of BSA failures, and follow-up to confirm resolution. Utilize reports to identify trends and areas of concern that may require further action.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of branch audits. Tracks branch staff activity, results and outcome.
  • Problem Resolution: Support staff with escalated member service issues and questions as needed.
  • Risk Management: Implement procedures to mitigate risks related to fraud, loss, and physical safety, and provides ongoing training, follow-up and support.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies.
  • Branch Management Onboarding: Support managers by explaining operational expectations and guidelines and follow-up to confirm comprehension and execution.
  • Procedural Efficiency: Analyze current processes and procedures and explore options to improve credit union operational efficiency.
