About The Position

The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in leading and optimizing daily manufacturing activities within the compost bagging operation. This position oversees production workflows, inventory control, equipment performance, and team coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. The Operations Supervisor leads operators, technicians, and laborers while maintaining strong adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Through effective troubleshooting, resource management, and performance monitoring, this role minimizes downtime, maximizes productivity, and supports overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations or warehouse supervision
  • Experience with inventory control and production reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot bagging machines
  • Experience working with 3-phase 480 VAC electrical equipment and controls
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred
  • 2+ years in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification
  • Experience with asset/equipment management systems
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily bagging line operations to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Lead forklift teams and production staff to maintain efficient workflow and throughput
  • Manage inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize waste or shortages
  • Operate and oversee bagging machines and associated production equipment
  • Assist technicians with electrical troubleshooting and coordinate repairs to reduce equipment downtime
  • Monitor and support 3-phase 480 VAC electrical systems and controls in collaboration with maintenance teams
  • Implement and maintain asset management practices to track equipment performance and utilization
  • Utilize daily and weekly operating reports to analyze trends, identify bottlenecks, and drive operational improvements
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to foster a safe, accountable, and productive work environment
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output
