The Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring departmental safety and quality standards are maintained. In addition, this individual will help identify opportunities for improvement and drive their implementation. The Packaging Supervisor will help utilize labor resources by coordinating down-time activities. This is a new position in the department which will evolve as the business grows so the individual must be adaptable and willing to learn and take on new challenges.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, a plus.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a supervisory role
  • 1-3 years' experience with ERP systems
  • High School diploma required.
  • Must have good listening and interpersonal communications skills
  • Must be able to effectively drive production team to meet the departmental expectations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of packaging operators whose primary responsibility is performing quality inspections and maintaining a production documentation
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met
  • Maintain proper staffing levels by coordinating with PBB Recruiter
  • Lead daily production performance meetings
  • Drive efficiency improvements
  • Train permanent and temporary employees in safety, quality, and basic equipment operation
  • Perform verification checks of quality paperwork
  • Data entry of daily production, down time and efficiency logs
  • Participating in Safety and Quality investigations
  • Drive improvement activities to help meet Packaging Department objectives
