About The Position

The Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting the Chief Operating Officer in the support of system-wide operational initiatives to ensure Foss Swim School’s top and bottom-line performance. The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the management of company operational processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adoption of company programs and processes across field operations in partnership with School Support Center functions. Founded in 1993 on the belief that anyone can learn to swim well, Foss Swim School is a premier swim school with 33+ locations across the Midwest and Colorado and is poised for continued growth. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent amount of hands-on experience or training necessary to meet the essential functions of the position.
  • 3+ years of operational experience
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time
  • Effective communicator, adept at managing teams and collaborating with corporate
  • Results-driven, customer-focused, and able to navigate a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-centric mindset, with a focus on both internal (field teams) and external (customers) satisfaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with District Operations Managers to ensure system-wide uniformity and adoption of FOSS programs, operational standards, and procedures.
  • Tracks implementation and inspects adoption of initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent operational standards are met in partnership with field operations team and School support center teams.
  • Works in partnership with functional experts to bring forward challenges, barriers, or adoption related issues.
  • Validates weekly, quarterly, and annual business rhythms are up to date, correct, executable, and work in partnership with operations and marketing to ensure they fit into the annual calendar.
  • Supports process improvements to streamline operational processes across locations.
  • Supports compliance and safety measures to ensure all locations adhere to safety regulations and maintain compliance with corporate standards.
  • Supports product ownership of the swim school program.
  • Provides project management support to all stakeholders to ensure successful end-to-end execution of new school openings and remodeling projects.
  • Provides hands-on school opening support to serve as the liaison between School Support Center functions, field operations, and facilities teams to ensure accurate and on time set up and execution of remodel and new school openings.
  • Partner with District Operations Managers, school teams, and SSC to ensure end-to-end operational excellence.
  • Foster an environment that encourages creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovative solutions focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Support location managers and district operating managers ensuring alignment with company objectives and addressing any field level challenges.
  • Supports facilitating flow of communication between field teams and School Support Center teams to support implementing solutions.
  • Keeps company intranet field facing sections up to date and accurate with available tools and information.
  • Participates in school visits to build engagement and relationships as a representative of field operations.
  • Responsible for leading, tracking, partnering, and executing operations department initiatives and delivering on time.
  • Works in partnership to keep appropriate teams informed and engaged, as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
