About The Position

This position with APD will serve staff and management across the Agency. This position serves as the DDDP/Pathways Risk Manager/Safety Officer and conducts highly responsible professional, managerial, and administrative work to reduce, control, or eliminate the possibility of incidents to resident, staff, and visitors at the institution; thereby minimizing overall program risk. This is accomplished by assessing, planning, and coordinating responsibilities to prevent or minimize accidental injury, illness, property damage, or other preventable loss or negligent acts. The Risk Manager/Safety Officer is responsible for the overall coordination of the incident reporting system and the general liability program for DDDP/Pathways. Analyze a magnitude of daily resident incident reports in a priority manner.  Review reports for timeliness, content, accuracy, and ensuring compliance with applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Codes, Department Regulations, and DDDP/Pathways Operating Procedures.  Analyze the frequency, causes, general categories and types of incidents causing injury to residents.  Analyze incident reports and make recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of resident injuries.  Make recommendations for corrective measures in problem areas. Completes documentation review and analysis of incidents to include reportable and critical incidents assessing program compliance and integrity.  Conducts routine meetings with various disciplines to assess compliance and develop corrective action plans as needed. Maintains data for post event reviews. Serves as the DDDP/Pathways Safety Officer and Chairperson for the Safety Committee.  Holds monthly committee meetings, types/distributes minutes and tracks resident safety action items until completion. Ensures compliance with risk management Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Codes, Florida Department of Health, the Safe Medical Devices Act, and Agency for Persons with Disabilities Regulations. Produce and provide monthly/quarterly/annual comprehensive statistical reports to Administration/Governing body which includes information about all activities of risk management.  Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual analytical reports for residential units at DDDP/Pathways. Performs special assignments such as researching, gathering information, analyzing, and stratifying data, and participates in ward government meetings.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning or evaluation.  Post-secondary education may substitute on a year-to-year basis for required experience.
  • Three (3) years experience in tracking data in Microsoft applications such as excel, access, PowerBI, etc.
  • Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis, basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices, to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials, to conduct fact finding research, utilize problem solving techniques, work independently, to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities, to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, to communicate effectively, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Certification in the agency approved crisis prevention and intervention program at the Advanced level is required unless the incumbent requests reasonable accommodation supported by an annual medical certification.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to pre-employment TB screening and on an annual on-going basis as prescribed by DDDP.
