About The Position

This is an independent, highly responsible, and complex position serving as Operations Review Specialist for the Bureau of Child Health Quality. This position works independently, uses discretion and independent judgement using policies and operating practices, and assuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Travel Systems (STMS).
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Current Florida Department of Health employee.
  • Valid Drivers Licenses

Nice To Haves

  • 3 year of Administrative, Secretarial or Clerical experience.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field.
  • Experience analyzing complex management processes and practices; and developing, recommending, and implementing solutions.
  • 3 years of experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Operations Review Specialist for the Bureau Chief for Child Health Quality.
  • Works to identify and analyze complex management processes and practices; and develops, recommends, and implements solutions.
  • Strategic planning and implementation of special projects for the Bureau Chief for Child Health Quality.
  • Manages and makes recommendations on projects within the section and reports to management team with project updates.
  • Monitors the management information systems; designs and implements modifications when necessary.
  • Monitors managers and assist, when necessary, with recruitment and hiring activities, performance planning and evaluations on direct reports on behalf of the Chief of Medical and Health Services.
  • Coordinates with the CMS Personnel Liaison on all HR actions from the Bureau.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and monitors employee roster database for updates including, but not limited to HR changes such as new hires and terminations for COOP management.
  • Serves as primary Everbridge liaison for the Bureau of Child Health Quality.
  • Acts as the Emergency contact and fire evacuation liaison for the Bureau.
