This is a highly responsible, independent managerial position within the Department of Children and Families, Regional Child Welfare Critical Child Safety Team. The position is responsible for managing the region Investigative Analyst, MDT and/or Family Finders programs. These programs provide direct support to frontline staff by facilitating collaborative work. This is advanced professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.). Oversight of the MDT Managers to ensure the coordination and facilitation of staffings that may result in changing placement, remaining in school district, and competing opinions and recommendations from participants. Ensures diligent efforts and advanced searches are being made towards locating relatives and fictive kin to identify and build positive connections between the child and relatives/fictive kin. Oversight of the Family Finder Managers who develop and recommend planning strategies to enhance and increase field performance and quality as it relates to finding families/relatives, fictive kind, and other potential placement to keeping children out of congregate care. Consults with and assists the Child Protection staff and CBC in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of existing operations, systems, and procedures, as it relates to placement options for families. Oversight of the Investigative Analyst Managers to ensure records retrieval and analysis during investigations. Identification of high or very high risk cases to ensure consistent oversight, management of data associated with CPI operations and delivering high quality outcomes for investigations. Reviews Florida Statutes, DCF Operational Procedures, policies and related directives for impact on Child Protection, in order to keep staff up to date. Analyzes and evaluates impact on operations; identifies potential problems; recommends appropriate actions when warranted to leadership. Identifies improvements and implements adjustments to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency. Provides training and technical assistance as needed to all levels of Child Protection staff and ensures compliance with the processes and procedures as well as provides support to the Regional Program Administrator, Children's Legal Services, the CBC, and Family & Community Services Director through requested internal reviews, verification findings reviews and other special requests related to investigative information. Provides assistance to Program Administrators and their staff in the management and operation of Child Protection through the evaluation and observations of the MDT Coordinators, Family Finders coordinators and Investigative Analysts. This include Quality Office oversight, observational processes, staffing participation and strong feedback loops for the team. Oversees, manages, and assists the MDT/FF and Analyst managers during case activity on a regular basis in addition to monthly data rollups associated with all three programs. . Ensures staff maintain an organized tracking system to account for their Homestudies, MDT work and Investigative Analyst reviews, confirms participation of required attendees, documents the outcome of care oversight in the Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) System, and tracks family finding efforts, diligent searches, and outcomes of such. Other duties as assigned.
