About The Position

Responsible for achieving schedule, quality and cost standards for units that perform Receiving, “Put Away” (put parts, materials, supplies into appropriate location in warehouse; perform standard documentation), Cycle Count, Material movement from Warehouse to production units or to Fulfillment units, Shipping, and Transportation (scheduling transportation with established transportation vendors). May include Fulfillment function if Fulfillment does not fall under Production/Assembly Manages 3 levels of employees. Organize, assign, and evaluate work of other employees. Hire or has major influence in hiring new employees. Write performance reviews. Determine or has major influence regarding salary increases and promotions. Initiate and communicate disciplinary action with needed approvals. Typical titles of direct reports: Supervisor, Operations; Supervisor Warehouse; Team Leader Cycle Count; Supervisor, Fulfillment. Manages the process through supervisors and, in some cases, team leaders. Overall staff size normally includes at least 3 supervisors and 30 – 70 direct labor employees (permanent or contract). Ensures that processes are in place and corrects for any problems. Reviews or establishes staffing plans. Responsible for employee hiring, training, evaluation, salary increases, promotions, and terminations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, or related area or related experience.
  • 5 years of directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in warehouse systems and inventory practices.
  • Demonstrated results in Lean operations, six sigma, and driving process improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively deliver results working with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients to resolve client and business issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong computer literacy and expertise required.
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other tasks as required.
  • Flexible work hours.
  • Ability to see, and proficiently speak, hear, write, and understand English.
  • Sustained attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and analyze data and other written information.
  • Moderate physical exertion.
