About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for serving as the senior on-site operations leader for Elite Material Handling within an assigned market, with accountability for day-to-day operational execution, service excellence, safety performance, employee development, and financial performance. This position ensures operational policies, procedures, and workflows are executed consistently; evaluates performance using operational metrics and customer outcomes; and partners closely with the Vice President of Operations and cross-functional leaders to align staffing, capacity, and execution with company strategy and customer commitments. While direct P&L ownership is not assigned, the role maintains accountability for the operational drivers that impact P&L performance, including productivity, labor efficiency, revenue capture, asset utilization, and expense discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive operations experience within a service-oriented or branch-based environment.
  • Proven background in operational finance, KPI and metric management, and performance accountability.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at the senior operations level or across multiple functional areas.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and other business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with operational and/or ERP systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and customer experience within the market.
  • Establish clear expectations and enforce accountability for workforce discipline, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company standards.
  • Execute operating plans aligned with company growth objectives, service strategy, and financial discipline; translate priorities into daily execution plans and leader accountability.
  • Maintain accountability for operational drivers impacting financial performance, including labor efficiency, service revenue execution, expense control, and revenue capture.
  • Monitor and improve technician and shop productivity using performance metrics and trend analysis; key measures may include revenue per technician, daily service calls, first-time fix performance, and related rework reduction.
  • Oversee service and parts execution within operations scope to improve responsiveness, throughput, and customer uptime; reinforce disciplined estimating/quoting behaviors and execution follow-through.
  • Manage operational asset utilization and availability within the market (e.g., rental readiness/turn, critical parts availability, and resource allocation) to support customer demand and service capacity.
  • Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, variance awareness, invoicing accuracy, and reduction of revenue leakage through timely documentation, billing readiness, and operational controls.
  • Coordinate with Sales leadership to align customer commitments with operational capacity and execution; ensure handoffs and service delivery expectations are supported and met.
  • Lead and develop department leaders and front-line teams through coaching, performance management, and continuous improvement; conduct routine performance check-ins and corrective action as needed.
  • Identify operational risks, gaps, and inefficiencies; implement corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives, measuring outcomes and sustaining gains.
  • Serve as escalation point for significant operational, service, or customer issues within the market; ensure timely resolution and root-cause prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety programs, and applicable regulatory requirements; reinforce safe work practices and accountability at all levels.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and servant leadership.
  • Lead change management related to systems, processes, and operational standardization initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.
