About The Position

Breakthrough Public Schools is seeking highly collaborative, well-organized, and results-driven Operations Managers to join the school Operations teams at each of our campuses. The Operations team keeps school systems running smoothly, creates a warm and welcoming environment for all stakeholders, and removes operational barriers so instructional staff can focus on student achievement. The Operations Manager supports Front Office operations through clerical, administrative, and operational responsibilities. This role oversees day-to-day operations across several systems (including Facilities, Food Service, Student Health, and Transportation) and serves as the second-in-command to the Assistant Principal of Operations (APO), partnering closely with them to ensure smooth daily operations. The Operations Manager serves as the first point of contact for all third-party vendors and partners within the building, escalating to the APO as needed. We see this role as a natural stepping stone to the APO position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent word processing and grammar skills
  • Impeccable personal organization and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the BPS’s acceptable guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Facilities Share accountability for the physical condition of the building with the APO. Conduct regular building walkthroughs. Manage the upkeep of shared spaces. Serve as the primary point of contact for the third-party facilities team.
  • Food Service Serve as the primary point of contact for the third-party food service management team. Support smooth daily food service operations and escalate issues to the APO as needed.
  • Student Health Distribute required medical forms to families, collect completed forms, and ensure they are provided to the school nurse. Create, maintain, and share lists of students with medical needs with any staff who require the information. Ensure student immunization records meet all compliance requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for the third-party school nurse.
  • Special Projects and Events Support the APO with special projects and events, and serve as project lead when assigned.
  • Transportation Support families with transportation questions and concerns. Maintain up-to-date records of transportation methods for each student. Collaborate with the BPS network team on all transportation-related matters.
  • Front Office and School Operations Serve as a consistent Front Office presence by warmly greeting and directing visitors. Help maintain a welcoming, organized school environment. Support the execution of daily operational systems and school-wide initiatives as needed. Promptly escalate operational concerns to the APO. Assist in emergency and high-urgency situations as directed. Build strong, trust-based relationships with students, families, and staff. Contribute actively as a collaborative member of the school community. Complete other duties as assigned.
