About The Position

The Operations Manager reports directly into the COO. The Operations Manager is responsible for all operations, production management,  production team members, financial performance, area organization, housekeeping, Support teams, safety and food safety for the plant. It is the Operation Manager’s  responsibility to ensure production is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient process that meets the expectations of company targets, quality standards and   customer expectations. The Operations Manager will also coordinate Maintenance and Sanitation efforts to ensure the plant starts up on time in the next morning

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Exposure with managing a union environment.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical experience
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, inventory and stewardship process.
  • Strong project management, team building, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Able to interact, motivate and lead individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, process and data driven orientation, knowledge of financial metrics and ability to effectively manage a plant wide budge.
  • High degree of integrity and judgment.
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of products for second shift operations, maintenance, quality and sanitation.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of dough processing, topping mixing and batter mixing through the retard process for first and second shift operations.
  • Responsible for the profit/loss financial results for the line production.
  • Oversee the overall financial management, planning, system and controls for the production process.
  • Responsible for constantly analyzing the production process and developing a strategy for improvement where necessary.
  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the Paris Plant Management Team.
  • Responsible for performing annual performance reviews on 2nd management members.
  • Responsible for constantly improving the talent within the line and production team members.
  • Responsible for mentoring, training and developing all members of management.
  • Responsible for training and enforcing all food safety policies.
  • Responsible for training and enforcing safety policies.
  • Responsible for organization and housekeeping of all production areas within their designated line.
  • Responsible for representing the company in a positive manner in all facets of the position.
  • Expected to be a role model for the company culture.
  • The incumbent understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.
  • Participate as a functional member of the food safety team, and enforce the Food Safety Manual policies. This includes collaborating, leading and supporting Quality Assurance in order to resolve food safety issues.
  • Install and visibly demonstrate the promotion of a safety-first culture.

  • Role shall be accountable for total performance of the line 24/7, inclusive of core Cost KPIs: throughput rates, material waste, direct production crewing and shift timelines.
  • Role is expected to have vast understanding of system bottlenecks, top lost time drivers and top system points of material waste and drive for their resolution.
  • Role is expected to be an extension of the Company identity, outwardly displaying the Five Management Rules and promoting their application.
  • Role will be expected to build strong teams with strong team identity.
