About The Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the research and clinical operations of the Byrd Institute division in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. This position is responsible for managing operations, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
  • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree; (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree; (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
  • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
  • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
  • Participate in development and implementation of objectives and short-and long-range planning; develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
  • Oversee all facets of the daily operations and business practices of the organizational unit, ensuring compliance with the University, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Assist in responding to customer inquiries, serve as customer service representative, and model and ensure best customer service practices.
  • Resolve conflicts escalated to management.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Compile statistics and other information in order to provide reports to upper management and others.
  • May manage and oversee the supervision of employees, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • May oversee audit compliance and perform audits; may oversee maintenance of departmental computer systems.
  • May serve on university, state, regional, and national task forces and/or committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
