About The Position

The Safety Director will be responsible for developing a culture of safety across all units of the organization. This position will develop and implement safety plans to mitigate risks in each program area and ensure the physical and emotional safety of all staff and clients.

Requirements

  • BA in public safety or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the safety field. Preferably school safety.
  • Ability to conduct staff training.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and child safety principles.
  • Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI, and National Sex Offenders Clearance (required).
  • Ability to secure health clearances every two years and TB once (required).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power point and Microsoft Office, Salesforce.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or ability to secure a Driver’s License and insurance (preferred).
  • Bilingual Spanish/English or another universal language, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote a culture of safety across all organizational units to ensure the physical and emotional safety of staff and clients.
  • Design and implement comprehensive safety plans and risk mitigation strategies for each program area.
  • Conduct facility assessments, emergency drills, and monthly safety site visits with actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure all building permits, fire inspections, and health inspections remain current and compliant.
  • Partner with property management to maintain facilities in optimal condition through preventative maintenance routines.
  • Oversee vehicle fleet safety, maintenance, and driver readiness to ensure safe client transportation.
  • Deliver and coordinate safety training for staff and drivers, including onboarding, OSHA compliance, CPR, active shooter response, and child abuse prevention.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with OSHA regulations and child safety standards.
  • Conduct camera and security audits to identify and address safety improvement opportunities.
  • Establish partnerships with police, fire departments, and safety subcontractors to strengthen organizational safety efforts
  • Supervise and ensure security personnel follow routines that guarantee client protection.
  • Monitor and execute assigned balanced scorecard goals, safety metrics, milestones, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, productivity, innovation, and teamwork in all safety operations.
  • Maintains master access to all facilities and vehicles; manages key issuance, tracking, and return to ensure secure, timely access for staff and leadership.
  • Administers organizational access and key management, maintaining master access to all facilities and vehicles and ensuring secure, documented processes for key issuance, tracking, and return. Develops and enforces keycontrol procedures that support operational readiness, staff safety, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the COO.
