The Operations Manager will be part of the Fergus Falls operations leadership team and be a critical part in the success of the Fergus Falls factory. Expectations To excel in the role, you should: Plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within our operation in Fergus Falls, to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards. Liaise with functional or operational area managers and supervisors to understand current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities. Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity, as well as drive procurement of parts and components Responsible for continuous improvement and LEAN; analyzing production, maintenance and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions, and to shape a culture of continuous improvement. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop engineers and supervisors who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, quality assurance, or packaging. Manage, train, and mentor the plant management team consisting of e.g. production managers/supervisors, production planners, purchasers and financial controllers. Responsible for the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects of the operation. Collaborate and contribute in general management topics concerning the entire Fergus Falls site

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred) or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably operations and in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical assembly processes and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent people, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
