About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Production & Operations at SportsNet Pittsburgh (SNP), the Operations Manager is someone who thrives in a team and service-oriented work environment. It will be second nature to anticipate needs, follow through and be efficient and responsive. The ideal candidate for this position is an organized, detail-oriented individual who is able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • 3+ years of operations & administrative support experience required, preferably from TV/Broadcasting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Superb organizational and multi-tasking skills; must be detail oriented with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work in a fast paced, loosely structured, growing and changing work environment
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, collaborative demeanor, and positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Game Production to compile, complete and distribute Production Book paperwork
  • Assist team with booking transmission
  • Communication with Operations and Team Broadcast Personnel at home venues (PNC Park/PPG Paints Arena) and road venues on mobile unit park & power times, safety issues and camera placement
  • Coordination of production trucks for home and road games
  • Assist with talent scheduling and coordination
  • Support on-site technical managers and production teams
  • Oversee event budget and review all production invoices for accuracy
  • Work with specialty equipment suppliers – Fletcher, TV Graphics, SportRadar, etc. – to make certain equipment arrives on time prior to each season and is functioning properly
  • Coordination of Technical Crews through various vendors, locally and in other markets/cities
  • Sending crew complement requests to local crewers prior to season
  • Act as point person for all crewing changes & crew change requests from vendors
  • Forecasting crew lists weeks ahead of event dates to ensure crews are complete
  • Per Diem—Calculation of per diem for all employees (remote & studio) monthly
  • Aid personnel in tracking down missing per diem payments
  • Act as point person for vendor payments (Invoices to Accounts Payable) and/or additional payroll questions
  • Payroll management for XLT crewing service (in-studio freelancers)
  • Payroll management for freelance employees
  • Book travel for Game & Studio Analysts, as needed, and assist with out-of-pocket expense reports
  • Programming guides accuracy
  • Off-air broadcast quality (transmission issues, audio issues, video levels)
