Team/ Role: The Coinbase Canada Operations Manager will report to the Coinbase Canada (CBCA) Chief Operating Officer (COO) We oversee all aspects of Coinbase Canada operations – from product and regulatory operations, to service delivery, technology and outsourcing oversight. The team also drives country-level growth initiatives that align with both the Canadian market priorities and Coinbase’s global strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Canadian financial services / management or strategy consulting / operations strategy
  • Experience within a CIRO regulated investment dealer with focus of trade supervision across crypto, equities or derivatives.
  • High attention to detail: ability to produce content that could be shared externally with light review
  • The ability to support with developing new processes and improving existing processes to create efficiencies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, with an emphasis on senior management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced remote environment

Responsibilities

  • Support the COO in the effective oversight and management of operational functions both within CBCA and outsourced to intragroup or third party entities. This includes implementing operational policies and procedures, overseeing risk management processes, overseeing SLA frameworks, oversight of services, including intra-group and third-party providers, ensuring delivery in line with local regulations and contractual obligations across workstreams.
  • Support in the establishment, maintenance and ownership of key supervision activities across critical business areas of Coinbase Canada in line with both regulatory and best practice requirements. Critical business units include CBCA’s trading, staking and custody operations.
  • Overseeing the establishment and maintenance of robust operational resilience frameworks within CBCA, ensuring that critical business functions can continue in the face of disruptions. This includes identifying and assessing potential risks, developing contingency plans, and implementing measures to mitigate operational vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinating responses to operational incidents and facilitating communication with relevant stakeholders, regulators, and third-party service providers to uphold operational continuity.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including banks and regulators, to effectively communicate operational and risk strategies.
  • Project manage critical operations and risk-related projects with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, security, finance, product, customer service, and more.
  • Support across 1 Lod Operations key areas, including planned launch assessments and approvals, staffing and organization, and audits.
