About The Position

Directs day to day operations of designated Clinic Practices and special projects as directed.  Follows standards, policies and procedures of DCHC and specified certifying/accrediting bodies.  Serves as a member of the Management Team.

Requirements

  • Operations Mgr. III – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration/Healthcare Management or similar and at least five years of managing a clinic in a healthcare setting.
  • Five years of managing clinic operations in a healthcare setting, in lieu of or may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in working in community health centers/Federally Qualified Health Centers settings.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and/or develops systems, workflows and business relationships to ensure quality care, safety, regulatory compliance, policies / procedures are followed, and patient satisfaction.
  • Supervise / oversee multiple practice locations that are the direct responsibility of a DCHC operations manager
  • Experienced in project planning, scheduling and implementation
  • Track and monitor completion of meeting participation and compliance activities. Organize and plan in-person events, including retreats and boot camps.
  • Work with Manager to identify, problem solve and conduct appropriate assignment/escalation of issues which effect program implementation, success and timeline, including tracking of internal targets set by senior management.
  • Work with operations managers to review and improve operations in key areas of practice performance, including but not limited to financial performance, productivity, continuity of care, patient satisfaction, quality, access measures, etc
  • Support and implement growth initiatives; and clinical transformation initiatives to improve volume and patient experience
  • Assist and support the Compliance Department with all internal and external audits as it relates to both clinical documentation and reporting; and ensures assigned clinics are in compliance with federal and state regulations. (HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, Medicare, HRSA, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Coordinates with clinical trainer to assure initial and ongoing competency. Collaborates with nursing staff and other non-direct reports that provides patient care.
  • Determines appropriate staffing levels and interviews, hires, on boards, conducts performance reviews and works with Human Resources on progressive discipline of employees.
  • Monitors and distributes, weekly and monthly ad hoc operating reports according to deadline.
  • Understands and effectively utilizes the Electronic Health Record, and appropriate report writing functions. Assures designated staff is trained in patient registration and scheduling components while assuring all direct reports are competent in all other EMR applications.
  • Attends or conducts clinic staff meetings; participates in provider CQI, and organizational meetings as needed.
  • Assists with the development and fostering of effective collaboration between clinical departments, divisions, medical staff leadership, and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing services.
  • Accepts supervision, feedback, and continuing education programs as requested.
  • Assists in documentation of incidents and untoward events and understand and participates in safety programs and disaster drills.
  • Complete payroll for direct reports in a timely fashion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
