The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Associate ensures work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Under the guidance of the O&M Coordinator and Sr Coordinator, the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Associate contributes to the development and coordination of planned, non-emergent work packages.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus one (1) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
  • Or, Associates degree plus three (3) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
  • Or, high school diploma/GED plus five (5) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
  • Valid Arizona Drivers License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Construction and/or maintenance operations.
  • Experience with customer interface, ability to adapt/respond to a variety of stakeholders, manage complaints, negotiation skills, and problem solving.
  • Business, planning, and project management skills.
  • Computer skills: Windows, Word Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera.
  • Proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables.
  • Basic electricity course and drafting/CAD experience.
  • Successful completion of college Algebra.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully completes the APS Customer Project Training, including on-the-job training (OJT).
  • Assists in creating and executing routine, planned maintenance work packages and schedules. Learns to triage incoming work, apply appropriate keywording in Maximo, order required materials, and enter work details into the system. Supports O&M Coordinators and Sr Coordinators in creating detailed work packages, securing permits and conducting field checks to ensure job site readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinates support activities such as TOA, Blue Stakes, customer outage notifications, lane closures, tree trimming, hole digging and hauling ¿ initially under guidance then independently for routine, planned, non-emergent work. Initiates Work Authorizations (WAs) and GIS designs for maintenance and construction activities.
  • Manages material availability, updates Maximo planning tool and supports contractor coordination and invoicing under supervision. Learns and assists with job closeout and reconciliation processes, including Maximo closeout, material reconciliation and as-built design/Arc Alert submissions.
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicates project status and impacts, and supports cross-departmental coordination. Monitors project progress and makes adjustments to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Maintains accurate records in work management systems for projects.
  • Assists O&M Coordinator in providing emergency response support during events such as summer storms or other catastrophic situations.
